When a film carries a strong and meaningful message, it naturally draws the audience. Marathi cinema is currently enjoying massive success across India and globally. One such heartfelt new film, Amayra, produced by Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts and directed by Lokesh Gupte, is set to release under AVK Entertainment and Mahalsa Entertainment. The film’s poster has just been unveiled.
The poster features beloved Marathi actors such as Ajinkya Deo, Rajeshwari Sachdev, and Pooja Sawant, all of whom are known for their stellar performances and have been deeply loved by audiences. But the special attraction this time is the appearance of Sai Sachin Godbole, a popular social media influencer. From the poster, it appears that the film has been shot abroad. However, what exactly is Sai’s relationship with Ajinkya Deo, Rajeshwari Sachdev, and Pooja Sawant in the story? What roles do they play? These questions will be answered on May 16, 2025, when the film releases.
Speaking about the film, Subhash Ghai said, “Amayra, the new Marathi film from Mukta Arts, is releasing across Maharashtra on May 16. I’m truly happy with how the film has turned out — it has great music and wonderful performances from everyone. I have always been a fan of Maharashtra and its rich artistic culture. Right from the beginning, Maharashtra has given me so much, and I feel it is my responsibility to give back. That’s why, in 2006, with support from the Maharashtra Government, we established Whistling Woods in Film City. Today, over 4,000 alumni from across India and Maharashtra are actively working in the film industry. I’m especially proud that our lead actress Sai Godbole comes from our Whistling Woods acting studio. Under Mukta Arts, we also created the blockbuster Marathi film Valu. I’m delighted that through Mukta Arts, we are now making a mark in Marathi cinema. Director Lokesh Gupte and the co-producers have done a remarkable job with Amayra, and I hope to continue making many more Marathi films in the future.”
With its stellar cast and the exciting debut pairing of Sai Godbole, Amayra promises a unique viewing experience. The film is directed by Lokesh Gupte, written by Mihir Rajda, and produced by Rahul Puri, Swati Khopkar, and Suresh Govindray Pai, with co-producers Ninad Nandkumar Batteen and Tabrez Patel. Music for the film is composed by Rohit Raut.
Amayra will release in theatres on May 16, 2025.
