Poulomi Das, who has done shows like Naagin 6, Baarish and many more, is gearing up for a new character. The actor was last seen on Altt’s Paurashpur. Now she is part of ALTT’s new show. Titled as Nagvadhu - Ek Zehreeli Kahani, the show revolves around a woman who is said to be murdering young men who spend the night with her. Poulomi is playing a character called Sanvari in the series.
She says, ”Sanvari is from this small village in India. Her entire village believes in a lot of superstitions. Sabri is married and the story will revolve around how her life has changed post that. She is completely broken from inside. The show tells you how she gets over that phase of her life. The series depicts the journey of a woman and her struggle within.” Poulomi also shares that the director of Nagvadhu is Jeetu with whom she has worked in the past and also shared a good bond.
She says, ”When you have worked with a good director like Jeetu everything on set becomes easy. There are certain scenes in which one has to be careful. We should shot it aesthetically and not in a vulgar manner. Our director has done it properly and made sure that we should be comfortable on set.“ She also adds ,”The title Nagvadhu gives you an idea of what we are going to show in this whole series.The last time I worked with ALTT was in 2021. I have done a lot of their projects in the past. When they approached me with this show, there was a comfort level, I think that was the biggest reason I said yes. Along with that I loved the story as well.” In the world of OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon, how are the shows of ALTT unique and different? Das shares her point of view on this. She says,” ALTT has been doing a lot of stuff for masses and that’s my Indian audience. They connect with it more. There are varieties as well in content, that’s why ALTT content is attractive to me. I have actually portrayed some similar characters previously, so for this particular role it’s an easy ride . But obviously, each and every character that I play has a different essence in it. With each and every episode a new chapter will unfold of Sanvari. While shooting I have shot the climax first. This is one of the characters that had a lot of shades. So the moment you have a lot of shades in your character, it is more fun to play.”
Sharing her views of an actor’s life she says, ”I love everything about being an actor. There’s nothing that I regret, I love the excitement I get. I love the work I do. I love that I can play so many different characters which are not me. I don’t think there’s any con about being an actress. I love the attention I get all around the world.”
