For an actor, preparing oneself for the screen demands immense dedication. The harder the effort an artist puts in, the more evident it becomes on screen, especially when it comes to embodying a character’s look. In the serial Paru on Zee Marathi, portraying Aditya Kirloskar’s character, Prasad Jawade shared his journey of dedication undertaken to achieve Aditya’s look. “There were no restrictions in my lifestyle before. Then, about a year ago, I made some changes - I started eating on time, sleeping on time, and exercising. I disciplined myself, and now, when I see myself on screen or on stage, it feels very good. I make an effort to eat and sleep on time to stay fit. All this benefited me for ‘Paru.’ I drink 4 liters of water every day. I have my own 2-liter bottle of water.”
He adds, “I also eat in moderation; overeating doesn’t feel good. I started following rules, and from then on, I started feeling different. When you start feeling good, your health stays excellent. I can’t go to the gym every day, but my trainer helps me with online workouts. Sometimes, if I can’t make time, I jog for half an hour, do Surya Namaskar, push-ups, and also practice breathing exercises. No matter what happens, I stick to this routine for 4 days a week. I lost 28 kilos.”
Speaking about food, he shares, “I maintain a complete diet, including rice, lentils, vegetables, and bread. I only control sweets in my diet. I don’t like sweets too much. All this hard work paid off when I saw the helicopter promo shot for Aditya Kirloskar’s character and felt the joy; it made me more determined to stay fit. One piece of advice I would like to give everyone is to spare time for exercise. If you don’t have time for it, at least walk once a day; it will help in keeping various diseases away from your body.”
Don’t forget to watch Paru from Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm only on Zee Marathi.
