Prateik Chaudhary: Kundan’s look is very different from anything I’ve done before

Prateik Chaudhary, who has been a part of shows like Sindoor Ki Keemat and Tose Naina Milaike, is making his movie debut with Jio Hotstar’s Band Baaja Murder. The movie is produced by Seventh Sense Productions and has been helmed by Nitin Mishra. The actor plays the role of Kundan in the movie and revealed that the look of the character is quite different from the ones he has played before.

“Kundan’s look is very different from anything I’ve done before. He wears simple short kurtas, jeans, and casual t-shirts—very grounded yet elegant. He’s a pleasant, good-looking, humble guy, and the simplicity of the character is what really appealed to me,” he said.

Playing the character came with ease as the actor was too involved in the process. He said, “What made it special was that everything was new to me, as it is my first film, my first lead role, and my first long shoot. The whole experience was fresh, exciting, and enriching. So while it wasn’t ‘challenging’ in the traditional sense, it was certainly a learning curve—and a memorable one.”

It was a 15-day schedule that recently wrapped up in Lucknow, and Prateik shared that it was one of the best experiences of his career so far. He said, “Even though it was just 15 days, the bonding we developed felt like we had been working together for years. It never felt like a rushed project; the connection with the cast and crew was deep and emotional.”

“On the last day, we were all genuinely emotional and sad that it was ending. There was something magical about this shoot—only good vibes on set. Everyone was so warm and committed. We still crave to work together again, with the same energy and team spirit. It was truly special,” he added.

He has established himself as one of the finest actors in the industry currently with shows like Sindoor Ki Keemat and Tose Naina Milaike that ran for 500 episodes each. He was also seen in the micro-series Badass Elite, which ran for 67 episodes. As an actor, his focus is only on doing good work and not on the platform.

“I’m honestly just going with the flow, following the path that the universe is laying out for me, and I’m grateful for every step of it. OTT has opened up fresh opportunities and new audiences, and as an actor, it’s a beautiful time to grow. Thu Thu Thu—may the good energy continue,” Prateik shared.
