Actor-Producer Mishal Khan believes that the conversation around mental health has started due to the seriousness of this topic. He stressed that there are often more than one trigger that leads to it.
Speaking on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, which is observed on October 10, he said, “There is definitely an issue. “The increasing number of heart attacks, panic attacks, and mind-related issues at early ages, like 30 years onwards or even less, due to stress, competition, lifestyle, etc., shows how serious the concern of mental health is.”
Mishal also believes that multitasking can also be one of the reasons for increasing mental health issues. He said, “Multitasking is good when too much brain work is not required, but things that are important need 100% focus. The result is compromised, and you land up not justifying anything if you are multitasking when it comes to important tasks. The quality of the result suffers.” He also emphasized that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, and thus to take care of his mental health, he goes to the gym regularly. He added, “I listen to music, which is therapeutic for me. ‘Me time’ is important in the hustle of daily life.”
Mishal is a private person and is actually a selective extrovert. He said, “I open up to only a few but still don’t share everything. If I am comfortable with someone, I do share. But it takes a lot for anyone to get into my comfort zone or inner core circle.”
Two tips to keep your mental health in check? “No matter how busy you find time to socialize, it’s healthy. Do find ‘me time’ in a day and do what you love or even nothing. It will ground you and charge you for action when back in the grind. Music works wonders or anything creative,” he shared.
