Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar Announces Kailash Satyarthi as Recipient of Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2026

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi will be conferred with the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2026, announced Padma Shri Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar. The honour will be presented as part of the 84th death anniversary commemoration of Master Deenanath Mangeshkar.

Organised by the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratishthan and Hridayesh Arts, in association with Sakal Media Group, the ceremony continues the legacy of one of India’s most revered cultural institutions, honouring individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the nation’s artistic and social fabric.

Positioned as a Bhav Gandharva tribute, the evening reflects the enduring legacy of the Mangeshkar family — a lineage synonymous with musical excellence across generations, from Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle to contemporary torchbearers of Indian music.

This year’s awardees include Mahesh Kale for music, Shama Bhate for dance, Subodh Bhave for theatre and cinema, Raveena Tandon and Prajakta Mali for cinema, Sushil Kulkarni for journalism, Achyut Godbole for literature, Dr Dhananjay Kelkar with a Special Award, and Anand Bhagwat of Vasundhara Sanjeevani Mandal, Thane for social service. The ‘Mohan Wagh Award for Best Theatre Production’ will be presented to Jigisha Ashtavinayak’s play Bhumika, starring Sachin Khedekar, with producers Dilip Jadhav and Shripad Padmakar also being honoured.

The highlight of the evening will be the conferment of the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award (5th year) upon Kailash Satyarthi, recognising his extraordinary global contribution towards child rights and social justice.

The Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award stands as a symbol of national honour, celebrating individuals whose work creates a profound and lasting impact.

Dr Vishwanath Karad, Founder-President of MIT World Peace University, Pune, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. He is widely respected for his vision of integrating science, spirituality and value-based education.

The evening will feature a special musical presentation titled “Mee Lata Dinanath…”, a curated tribute to the immortal songs of Lata Mangeshkar, presented by Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

The programme will include performances by Vibhavari Joshi, Madhura Datar, Savani Ravindra, Shreyasi Pavgi, Manisha Nischal, Rutuja Tare and Dr Unmesh Karmarkar.

The ceremony will be compered by Milind Kulkarni, with Supriya Chitnis as the announcer.
