Director-actor Raghav Kansal, who is seen in the series A Day in Our Lives on MX Player, says that social media impacts multiple areas in his work life. However, he also emphasizes the fact that one should not give too much importance to the medium.
“Social Media is a powerful force and you only try to showcase your best work but, at the same time, you have to understand as an individual that there is a life outside social media. I try to post only about my work rather than my personal life,” he says.
Social media is often viewed as a double-edged sword, he says, adding, “It has really helped to reach a wider range of audiences and I will always be grateful as the platform gave me the opportunity to share my work.”
He adds, “I also feel that a lot of artists don’t get their due as the whole thing works on followers and viewers.”
Meanwhile, views are often based on an algorithm that keeps changing, and that can get tricky, he says, adding, “Absolutely, sometimes it often takes a lot of time for your work to get recognized and I feel in our line of work you have to keep entertaining the viewer regardless of the viewership. Self-belief often plays a vital role on social media.”
