That is what we witnessed last night when producer Rajan Shahi and young creator Ishika Shahi came to support Sumbul Touqeer’s debut music video launch Aaj Sach Bolungi. The video is the debut production of Sumbul’s production house STK Spark. It was a great blessing for Sumbul to have a legendary producer like Rajan Shahi come and lend his support. Interestingly, his daughter Ishika Shahi has also recently come up with a new digital show When Jabb Zodiacs Met. It is a fresh take on modern-day relationships through the lens of zodiac signs, focusing on the emotional and practical challenges each sun sign faces while searching for love.
Aaj Sach Bolungi features Sumbul and has a very theatrical approach to it. It revolves around the crime, violence and atrocities against woman and how even in the darkest of times, women get up and stand tall against the society. With young talents like Sumbul and Ishika creating their own space in the industry, it is also an indicator of the true power of girls. What is fascinating is the support of their dads to fulfil their dreams. Rajan Shahi has been rock solid support to Ishika who has picked up lot of things from her dad. And the same is true for Sumbul - right from her childhood father Touqeer Khan has been instrumental in Sumbul’s growth as an artiste.
