The sets of Producer Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa turned into a venue of celebration and pride as veteran actor Arvind Vaidya, fondly loved by audiences as Bapuji, was felicitated after being conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award.

This recognition is also personally very special for me. My maternal grandfather, the legendary P. Jairaj, was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the President of India. Seeing Arvind ji receive the Padma Shri from the Hon’ble President feels like another proud moment within our extended family. It feels as though two of the country’s highest honors have been bestowed upon people whom I deeply admire and consider family.
