The film Phula will present the story of a woman while exploring the traditional folk culture of the Waghya–Murli community. The movie promises an authentic musical experience, and after a long time, a Marathi film will feature a strong album of seven songs. The film has been created by a group of enthusiastic young newcomers from Atpadi village in Sangli district, who came together with the ambition of doing something new.
The poster and music launch ceremony of Phula was held with great enthusiasm and grandeur in the presence of senior journalist Rajiv Khandekar, Senior Executive Vice President of ABP Majha and ABP News. The entire team of the film attended the event, along with saxophonist Raj Soda.
The film is produced by wrestler Ajit Shivaji Jadhav, and presented by Shivsharvil Movie and Bodhi Cinema. The story and direction are by Abhishek Javir, while the screenplay has been written by Ravikiran Javir. The music is composed by Samadhan Aivale, with Amar Devkar as the creative director. Lyrics are written by Ravikiran Javir and Samadhan Aivale. Cinematography is handled by Pratap Joshi, art direction by Atul Lokhande, and editing by Rahul Prajapati.
The songs in the film are sung by Vaishali Samant, Vaishali Made, Rohit Raut, Ravindra Khomne, Vaishali Kulkarni, Vaishnavi Adode, and Akash Navgire. Choreography is by Ashutosh Kirtikar and Srushti Jadhav. Costume design is by Komal Javir and Akshata Patil, while makeup is done by Samadhan Bhore.

Speaking at the event, Rajiv Khandekar said, “We all take pride in our folk art and traditions. Through this film, an effort has been made to shed light on the real lives of the artists whom we admire and celebrate. A group of passionate young people has come together to make this film. Since it is based on the lives of the Waghya–Murli community and presents a unique theme, audiences should definitely support it.”
Phula tells the touching story of an innocent girl born to a Murli woman and the struggles she faces in life. Set against the backdrop of traditional cultural forms such as Tamasha troupes, Jagran, and Gondhal, the story emerges from the rich folk traditions of Maharashtra.
The film features seven songs: Kanha Tujhi Basari, Maza Raja Malhari, Aasara Tu Majhya Jeevacha, Kunku Koral Kapali, Murli Zhale Mi Ga Bai, Kapali Sajla Bashing, and Derbycha Tharar. Through these songs, which appear at key moments in the narrative, the film portrays the folk culture of the Waghya–Murli tradition while also expressing the emotions of a Murli woman.
With its authentic folk culture and meaningful music, Phula promises to be a unique cinematic experience on the big screen. The film will be released across Maharashtra on April 17.
