As Peddi gears up for its World Television Premiere on Sony MAX on October 24 at 8pm, Ram Charan reflects on the scenes that made the film particularly memorable for him, from intense wrestling sequences and emotionally charged moments to a particularly special scene that came together through the director’s vision and the collective efforts of the cast.
Reflecting on the film’s most challenging and memorable sequences, Ram Charan shared, “There are quite a few scenes in the film. I can’t say just one or two scenes. There are many scenes related to cricket and there are many wrestling scenes as well. One of the most interesting scenes for me was the cricket auction scene, where the hero is auctioned off for just one rupee to play. The way the drama unfolds around him and how he gets recognition was very interesting to me. The wrestling scenes were very intense too. After losing everything when he goes to his guru and pleads with him, requesting him to train him, those scenes were very nice.”
Speaking about one of the film’s most emotionally powerful moments when Peddi realises that he may no longer be able to wrestle, Ram Charan shared, “It was challenging but not difficult. By then all the actors including myself were so immersed in the film. Our director had spent many days thinking through and planning the shoot, but we finished shooting the entire scene in just one day, within just eight hours. That was possible because everybody was so cooperative. It is one of the scenes closest to my heart.”
Headlined by Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi is a sports-action drama that brings together cricket, wrestling and an emotionally charged story of pride, identity and dignity. Set in 1990 against the backdrop of a remote village in Andhra Pradesh, the film follows Peddi, a gifted sportsman whose passion for the game makes him a local hero. However, when circumstances threaten his community and its way of life, the game becomes much more than a sport, turning into a fight for his people and everything they stand for.
