Ranaksh Rana, who is making his Bollywood debut with The Mentor, says as a public figure he has the power and responsibility to create awareness. He feels that since they have a certain reach with the audience, their activities and conduct also help inspire the masses.
“As a public figure, you must create awareness. We have a power that comes with the responsibility of social upliftment. We can also lead people and change the way for the better. The kind of reach that we have allows us to share our experiences with people, encourage them, and motivate them. However, with great power comes great responsibility. One should be accountable for the power they have. Because if you use it wrong, it will come back to you. Even when you are in a higher position than the rest, Karma won’t spare you, so do good, and be good,” he said.
His goals for life are very clear, and he is able to maintain a balance between his personal and professional lives. He said that it’s because he “keeps it separate." And it’s not just that, he is clear on what he should share in the public forum and what not.
“The things that help contribute to the nation, spread inspiration, build culture, and help the new generation learn—that I make public. All those things that have a genuine reason and a good outcome, and which people can find some value in and learn to do something with, I am happy to share those. Rest, everything is private.”
