Rani Mukerji was seen soaking in nostalgia on Tuesday when she visited St. Xavier’s College. Currently busy promoting her upcoming film Mardaani 3, Rani will once again be seen portraying the fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. As part of the film’s promotions, she visited the college and, in a delightful coincidence, stepped into the very same classroom where her 2018 film Hichki was shot.
In videos and photographs going viral on social media, Rani Mukerji can be seen sitting in the same classroom featured in Hichki. College students joined her in this heartwarming moment, and she was also seen posing for pictures with them. This emotional and touching experience has quickly gained immense popularity online.
Rani Mukerji is leaving no stone unturned to promote Mardaani 3. Over the past weekend, she visited Pune, where she participated in a special Mardaani-themed activity organised by students. During this visit, she also offered prayers at Pune’s famous Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple. Pictures from her visit have gone viral across social media platforms.
Speaking about Mardaani 3, the film is directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film continues the franchise’s legacy of telling socially relevant stories. While the first Mardaani highlighted the grim reality of human trafficking, Mardaani 2 delved into the disturbing psychology of a serial rapist. The third instalment explores yet another dark and serious social reality, further strengthening the franchise’s mission of creating awareness around pressing social issues.
Mardaani remains India’s only successful female-centric franchise and is also the country’s only franchise led by a female police officer. Mardaani 3 is set to release in cinemas worldwide on January 30, 2026.
