Historical and spiritual films hold a special place in Marathi cinema, and now, another remarkable film is joining this list—‘Rashtraguru Samarth Ramdas’! The recently released teaser has received a great response. This is not just a historical film but a cinematic tribute to the philosophy of Samarth Ramdas Swami in the modern era.
Directed by renowned VFX designer Aniket Sane, this film is produced by Kalpana Films & VFX Studio. Inspired by the Hollywood movie The Jungle Book, Aniket aimed to bring a similar cinematic experience to Marathi audiences. After 10 years of research and effort, this project has finally come to life. The story has been carefully crafted with extensive research on Samarth Ramdas Swami’s life and an in-depth study of ‘Dasbodh’.
Sane initially approached several members of the Marathi film industry for support, but when he did not receive the expected assistance, he took matters into his own hands and decided to complete the film independently. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, his determination remained unwavering.

Aniket Sane is a well-known name in VFX designing, having worked on hit Marathi films like Sunny, Jhimma 2, and Navra Maza Navsacha 2. His expertise extends to Bollywood projects such as Gandhi Talks, Sanak, Kerala Story and web series like Dil Bekaraar and Sunflower 1.
Using his vast experience, Sane has created stunning VFX and breathtaking historical visuals for Rashtraguru Samarth Ramdas. The teaser showcases Sajjangad, Kalaram Temple, Jamb Samarth, and other significant locations, meticulously recreated using VFX. This immersive experience transports viewers back to the 16th century.
This film is not just about history—it serves as a guiding light for society. It effectively presents Samarth Ramdas Swami’s teachings, the benefits of spiritual devotion, his philosophy of Karmayoga, and the essence of Bhakti (devotion).
Speaking about the film, Aniket Sane says, “‘Rashtraguru Samarth Ramdas’ is not just a film—it is a revival of Samarth Ramdas Swami’s philosophy. My main goal is to bring his invaluable teachings and contributions to today’s youth.”
