Review: ZEE5 Global’s Murshid is a treat! A Kay Kay Menon triumph from start to finish

If I had to sum up ZEE5 Global’s Murshid in one word, it would be ‘Kay Kay Menon’. This man is pure magic! He dominates the entire series with his captivating screen presence, sharp gaze, and memorable one-liners, leaving you in awe at every turn.

Another person deserving of applause for this excellent work is director Shravan Tiwari. Thankfully, he avoids the overused tropes that plague many contemporary web series. He keeps the narrative crisp, sharp, and engaging, ensuring you remain on the edge of your seat throughout. Best of all, (no spoilers), the series doesn’t leave you hanging with an unresolved cliffhanger—you get all the answers you seek.

ZEE5 Global is quickly establishing itself as a powerhouse for revenge dramas. First, they gave us Bhaiyyaji, featuring Manoj Bajpayee in an intense, South-style action role, and now Kay Kay Menon delivers in Murshid. I love the whole take on ‘retired’ messiahs returning to save their kin!

Kay Kay Menon is undoubtedly a phenomenal actor, and his performance in Murshid is no exception. His portrayal of the stoic, calm Murshid is devoid of melodrama or over-the-top background scores. Yet, despite his character’s dark history and actions, you find yourself rooting for him.

The introduction of each character is handled with meticulous attention to detail. There are no unnecessary montages or heavy editing to drive a point home. The episodes flow smoothly, transitioning seamlessly from one frame to another.

It’s also refreshing to see Rajesh Shringarpure in a role that truly showcases his talent. His powerful voice adds another layer of depth to his performance, making his character even more compelling.

Veteran actor Zakir Hussain needs no further praise—he is exceptional as always. He portrays his character so well that you genuinely hate him and wish for his demise!

Finally, Tanuj Virwani delivers a convincing performance as a lost, heartbroken, and defeated policeman. You can’t help but sympathize with his character, and he holds his own in scenes opposite the formidable Kay Kay Menon.

To sum it all up, it’s definitely worth your time!
