Addressing the officials and employees at the Samwad interaction organized at KVIC, Head office, Mumbai, on Wednesday, Manoj Kumar Chairman, KVIC expressed his visions and said that in the last 10 years, KVIC has laid the foundation for ‘building a developed India’ through the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and Vocal for Local campaign. He further said that in the third term of the Modi government, a roadmap has been prepared to take the ‘New Khadi of new India’ to new heights. India’s national heritage Khadi will soon become the identity of new India at the global level.
Chairman KVIC Manoj Kumar restated that as per the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ by the year 2047, KVIC is working on a plan to strengthen the ‘Khadi Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ in every village. A complete roadmap has been prepared to take Khadi from local to global. Khadi Village Industries Commission is also working on various schemes for skill development of artisans. Through these programmes, efforts are being made for success in the field of village industry and employment. In this sequence, Silai Samriddhi Yojana for women is specially encompassed, which is ready to be launched soon. The Commission has provided employment opportunities to the general public under various programs, which has led to economic improvement in rural and urban areas. In addition to this, new records have been achieved in the line of Khadi production.
Manoj Kumar said that Khadi and Village Industries Commission is the only organisation which is associated to the people of far-flung areas at the grassroots level and is promptly progressing in the work of public welfare while creating social harmony. This is the reason that KVIC is close to the heart of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Commission is ready to live up to his expectations.
Manoj Kumar emphasized that the ‘guarantee of Modi Government’ has made Khadi and Village Industries products popular globally and the ‘New Khadi of New India’ has given a new direction to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’. As a result, gour fold increase in the sale of Khadi products has been registered during this period. With the increase in production and sale of Khadi, artisans of rural India have become financially affluent. The increase of more than 233 per cent in the wages of artisans in the last 10 years has fascinated artisans towards Khadi work, while the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ mantra has made Khadi popular among the youth.
