Actor Robin Thakur, who plays Hardy in Tu Juliet Jatt Di, produced by Dreamiyata Entertainment, is embracing recognition with confidence and a strong sense of self-belief. In a candid interaction, he spoke about fame, motivation, and the mindset that keeps him going.
Talking about the pressures of public attention, Robin admitted that it can feel overwhelming at times but also rewarding. “In public, sometimes it feels awkward when everyone stares, but it’s okay. It feels good that people recognise me. I often hear from strangers that they’ve seen me in TV shows and songs, and they appreciate my work and looks. That kind of love keeps me going,” he said, referring to projects like Rocky Tu Aashiqui and Tu Juliet Jatt Di, along with his role as Vikram Malhotra in Sehajveer on Zee5.
When it comes to navigating tough phases in his career, the actor relies on a positive outlook. “I always stay motivated. I believe in positive thinking—when you truly love your work, nothing really feels tough,” he shared.
Interestingly, Robin approaches self-doubt very differently. “I never doubt myself. I know I am the best, and I deserve the best,” he stated with conviction.
Maintaining a balance between work and personal life is equally important for him. “Whenever I feel like I need ‘me time’, I say no to work. If my heart is not ready, I can’t perform. I disconnect, focus on myself, work on my fitness, sing, and even write stories and songs,” he revealed.
On staying grounded, Robin believes in leaving his characters behind once the shoot wraps. “I leave my character on set. I don’t carry it everywhere with me, though sometimes it takes time to come out of a role if I’ve played it for long,” he explained.
Addressing criticism, he keeps his approach simple and focused. “I only focus on positivity. I don’t have time for negativity, so I just ignore it,” he said.
Self-care plays a crucial role in his routine. “I read books, practice positive self-talk, and make sure I don’t speak a single negative word about myself. Gym and even coffee play an important role in keeping me balanced,” he added.
A firm believer in affirmations, Robin credits them for his mindset today. “I believe in ‘good vibe, good life’. I don’t surround myself with negativity. I spend time with myself, and honestly, I can talk a lot about affirmations because I am what I am today because of them,” he shared.
On identity and work, he keeps a straightforward perspective. “It’s a good thing if people recognise me because of my work,” he said.
Summing up his journey so far, Robin concluded with a grounded outlook: “I never let fame get into my head.”
