Fresh from her talked-about appearances at prestigious events in New York, Rohini Iyer graced the gold carpet at the third annual Gold House Gold Gala in Los Angeles. Dubbed the Asian Met Gala, this annual event celebrates and honours icons and trailblazers from the Asian and Pacific Islander communities across various industries.
It was a night to remember as Gold House’s ‘A100’ list’s most impactful Asian Pacific leaders in culture and society came together to celebrate their successful year at this prestigious event hosted by Co-founder and CEO of Gold House, the inimitable Bing Chen. Among the distinguished honorees were Lucy Liu, Bang Si-hyuk (who launched boy band BTS amongst many others), Padma Lakshmi, and Karan Johar (who got a roaring ovation) who received the Gold Legend Awards. Notable figures such as Saweetie, Cynthia Erivo, Hoa Xuande were also recognized for their contributions.
Iyer was one of the few Indian entrepreneurs who was invited to this very exclusive gala. Some of the biggest icons and upcoming talent (in Hollywood and Asia) also attended the gala such as Michelle Yeoh, Ok Taecyeon, and a legend in her own right Miky Lee (vice chair of CJ group who also produced Oscar winning Best Picture Parasite), Lilly Singh, Jay Shetty, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Darren Barnet, Halsey, Avantika, Poorna Jagannathan, Rupi Kaur and Bela Bajaria.
Following the awards gala and sit down dinner, Iyer and other guests headed to the afterparty. Nymphia Wind, the newly crowned queen of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and A100 honoree Steve Aoki, American DJ and music producer, ensured the night was unforgettable.
