Popular television actor Rubina Dilaik is set to make her debut in the Punjabi film industry with the upcoming release of Chal Bhajj Chaliye. Scheduled to hit theaters on April 5, the film’s songs are already trending, generating anticipation among the audience. In this comedy film, Rubina shares the screen with singer and actor Inder Chahal, alongside co-stars Alisha Sudan and Sudesh Lehri.
Producer Gurmeet Singh organized a special screening of this Punjabi film at Mumbai’s Red Bulb Studios, which was attended by many of Rubina’s friends and fellow celebrities. Director Sunil Thakur and co-producer Abhishek Sharma received accolades for their entertaining film, with wishes for success pouring in for Rubina and the entire team.
Joining the event as guests were Jannat Zubair, Akanksha Singh, Sanam, Jaan Kumar Sanu, Rajiv Adatia, Palash Muchhal, and Faizu, among others.
Expressing her excitement about venturing into the Punjabi film industry, Rubina Dilaik shared, “I have been eager to explore Punjabi cinema for quite some time, and when I was offered this role, I felt it was the perfect opportunity to make my debut. I underwent extensive preparation to speak Punjabi with the right pronunciation, attended workshops, and had a dedicated assistant director by my side. My character in this film is that of a charming girl who becomes the center of everyone’s attention.”
Rubina further added, “All the songs in our film are catchy and trending, promising to be heard during every wedding season. I am thrilled about this film and cannot wait for audiences to see it.”
During the event, Rubina and Alisha also performed a dance to one of the film’s songs. Making her debut in the Punjabi film industry with this film is actress Alisha Sudan, who hails from California. She said, “The character I play in the film resonates with me. She comes from America to her native place in Punjab. The film revolves around her journey and the events that unfold. I am excited about my film debut, and I know Punjabi films have a huge audience not only in Punjab and India but also abroad, especially in the USA and Canada.”
Producer Gurmeet Singh shared, “Our first Punjabi film, ‘Chal Bhajj Chaliye,’ is releasing in theaters on April 5th, and we are extremely excited. It’s a wholesome family entertainer with elements of comedy, drama, emotions, and great music. The trailer and songs of the film have received appreciation, and we hope the audience will love the film. Renowned singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Inder Chahal, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have lent their voices to the film’s songs. The shooting of this romantic comedy film took place at real locations in Punjab’s villages and Chandigarh.”
The film’s story is based on a feud between two villages over a girl’s elopement, leading to a series of comical events.
