Actor Rushad Rana, who was last seen in Anupamaa and is currently doing Mehendi Wala Ghar, says that actors play a huge role in bringing about better content. He supports actor Kavita Kaushik’s recent declaration of quitting TV due to regressive content.
“Kavita Kaushik’s decision to leave the industry over content issues is certainly a significant and bold statement. It underscores the need for drastic changes in the way stories are told on TV. This should serve as a catalyst for the industry to reevaluate its approach and prioritize quality and progressive storytelling. It’s a clear message that both audiences and creators are ready for a shift towards more meaningful and inclusive content,” he says.
Talking about the role actors can play in bringing about a change, he says, “Actors can be powerful advocates for better content by being selective about the projects they take on and by using their voices to highlight the need for change. By supporting and participating in progressive projects, we can set a standard and influence the direction of the industry. Collaboration with like-minded creators and openly discussing the need for better content can also drive change.”
