Saanand Verma: No actor can survive without talent in this industry

While luck plays a major role in actors bagging parts in this industry, Babli Bouncer actor Saanand Verma says that it is only hard work which will take you places here. He adds that you need to work towards your goal.

“I feel luck depends on your hard work. Luck comes with your hard work. It doesn’t come out of nowhere. So, you can build your luck, you can get lucky by working very hard and with a whole lot of honesty. And I feel that no body, no actor can be successful just because of luck. So, in terms of opportunities, definitely there are many actors who are lucky, they get a lot of opportunities. But there’s a possibility that the actor who we are thinking is lucky, actually works really hard and his hard work is hidden. Sometimes hard work can go unnoticed and success can be seen easily. We just see the success and we say that he or she is lucky to get opportunities. I feel there’s no actor who is successful only because of luck. He created that luck with his hard work. One thing is for sure that no actor can survive without talent in this Industry. Luck will come on its own depending on your hard work and talent,” he says.

The entertainment industry is very uncertain in terms of opportunities, however Saanand says that a lot has changed now. “Yes, there’s no doubt that the entertainment industry is very uncertain in terms of opportunities. The only thing is that if an actor is honest, well behaved and hardworking, then the actor should get work all the time because there’s a lot of work in the industry. A lot of opportunities are there,” he says.

He says that it is very important to pick up fresh parts and also perform them in a new way. “The problem is that all the actors want to do different kinds of roles but most of the actors look the same, perform the same. So just giving a different name to a character or just doing the prosthetics, makeup and giving a different look is not good enough. You have to change your acting style. A lot of things can be done to give variations to your performance. There should be some change in style of acting with the change of character. There should be some difference like in body language, in the way the character speaks, walks. So, there are too many things that can be considered,” he says.

He adds, “I have done quite a lot of work and I have played different roles. If you see me in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai and Sacred Games, I have almost the same clothes, same look, same hairstyle, everything is the same. But I have looked very different in terms of performance. As Saxena, in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, and as Purshottam Baria in Sacred Games, I look the same but yet I look very different. Why that happened is because the acting style is different, that’s why I look different.”
