The Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune celebrated Cheti Chand, Sindhi New Year, on March 19, 2026 with devotion and vibrance. Members of the Sindhi community and well-wishers gathered at 6.30 pm for an evening that was as festive as it was deeply spiritual.
The celebrations began with a warm traditional welcome, as guests were greeted with rose water and presented with Sindhi caps, creating an immersive cultural atmosphere. The premises, adorned in red and white, reflected both festivity and serenity. A highlight was the elegantly adorned idol of the Sindhi deity Lord Jhulelal, placed within a beautifully decorated temple-like structure at the entrance, where devotees offered their prayers.

The programme featured soulful Sindhi folk songs by renowned Sindhi singer Kaajal Chandiramani, creating a devotional atmosphere. A LIVE discourse by Didi Krishna Kumari, global head of Sadhu Vaswani Mission, added depth and reflection to the evening.
In her address, Didi Krishna Kumari called for brotherhood and prayed for world peace, urging individuals to spread love and harmony, and to become Dunzos of love in their everyday lives.
An attendee, Shrusti, who was not a resident of Pune and was attending the celebration for the first time, said, “It’s such a vibrant and joyous celebration, filled with music, devotion, and so many meaningful teachings to carry forward.”

The occasion also coincided with Gudi Padwa, marking the Maharashtrian New Year on the same day. The simultaneous celebrations highlighted Pune’s cultural harmony, where diverse traditions coexist and flourish.
More than a festival, the Cheti Chand celebration emerged as a shared experience of joy, reflection, and unity, leaving attendees with uplifted spirits and a sense of togetherness.
