The year 2024 is proving to be particularly special for Sai Tamhankar. Recently, she announced two new projects with Excel Entertainment, and now Amazon Prime has officially confirmed her participation in Matka King. Sai is set to dominate Bollywood with a series of powerful projects.
The first look of Matka King has stirred excitement online. Besides Sai, the film stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari Wagh, and Shalini in pivotal roles. The project, set in the 1800s, has been written by Vipul Mehta and Sneha Desai.
Sai’s role in Matka King is a significant addition to her impressive filmography. Following her Hindi web show Bhaakshak, she will be seen in Agni, Ground Zero, and now Matka King. The filming for Matka King commenced recently, featuring a stellar cast including Vijay Varma and other prominent Bollywood actors.
Expressing her excitement, Sai said, “Working with Nagraj Manjule has been a wish of mine, and it’s been on my bucket list. Now, as we collaborate on Matka King, that dream is coming true. I have often expressed my desire to work with him in various interviews and social media posts, and now that it’s happening, it feels like a dream come true. This web series for Amazon Prime, featuring Vijay Varma, is something I’m thrilled about. Vijay is a fantastic actor, and I’m excited to be part of this project with him. Matka King is going to be a unique experience, and I can’t wait to share more about it soon.”
Besides Matka King, Sai will also be seen in the Netflix web series Dabba Cartel, set to release by the end of the year. This series features an ensemble cast including Shabana Azmi, Jyotika, Shalini Pandey, Nimisha Sajayan, Anjali Anand, Gajraj Rao, and Jisshu Sengupta.
