On the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Holy Family Hospital, Bandra (W) launched its ‘One-Stop Breast Clinic’ today. The clinic was officially inaugurated by Bollywood actor and advocate for women’s health, Sameera Reddy.
With breast cancer now the most common cancer among women globally, including in Mumbai, Holy Family Hospital’s new facility is dedicated to providing women with timely and comprehensive breast care. The ‘One-Stop Breast Clinic’ offers a full range of services, from early diagnosis to personalized treatment plans for those dealing with breast-related health concerns.
Reddy, who has been a vocal advocate for women’s health and wellness, marked the occasion by releasing a brochure detailing the services and benefits of the newly opened Breast Clinic. She emphasized the importance of early detection, saying, “It’s a privilege to support this initiative. Awareness and early action are critical in the fight against breast cancer. I hope this clinic encourages more women to prioritize their health and seek timely care.”
Dr (Sr) Beena, Executive Director of Holy Family Hospital, opened the event with remarks on the hospital’s mission to provide comprehensive care for women. She highlighted the essential role the new clinic will play in early detection and treatment. “Through this dedicated clinic, we aim to address the growing need for specialized breast care, offering everything from prevention and diagnosis to treatment. We are grateful to everyone involved in turning this vision into reality,” Dr Beena said. She acknowledged the team led by Dr Rajeev Boudhankar (Medical Director of the hospital), as well as the hospital’s surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and support staff for making this initiative a reality.
Dr Dale Rodrigues, one of the hospital’s leading Surgical Oncologists, spoke on the clinical importance of early detection. He stressed that while breast-related health issues continue to rise, timely intervention can significantly improve outcomes. “This clinic comes at a critical time, and with the expertise we have here, we hope to make a real difference in patient care.”
Following the inauguration, a panel discussion featuring medical experts was live-streamed. The panellists included Dr Dale Rodrigues, Dr Nikhil Dharmadhikari, Dr Niharika Garach (Onco Surgeons), Dr Avinash Deo (Medical Oncologist), Dr Ajay Kolse (Radiation Oncologist), Dr Pallavi Shetty (Radiologist), and Dr Sneha Chandwani (Onco Histopathologist). The panel, moderated by Dr Nikhil, discussed preventive measures, the latest treatment strategies, and how the clinic will enhance access to specialized care.
