Not only has he evolved as an actor, but he has evolved as a person as well, says actor Sanjay Swaraj, who plays the role of Raghunath in Prateek Sharma’s Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya Shiv Shakti. He adds that he has learnt that nothing is possible without passion and constant hard work.
“It has been almost 25 to 30 years now working combined in theatre films, ads and television. My journey is on and trust me it’s been full of challenges but very interesting. This journey has helped me to become a better person and actor,” he says.
He adds, “To excel, you need ambition with passion and a drive is a must. When you do things with passion, you don’t get tired. Although in the performing arts, you work for six months and in the next six months, you wait for good work to come to you. In that period, you work on yourself with passion and drive to be a better performer.”
Talking about opportunities, he says, “Now I have become choosy. Earlier, I used to do whatever came my way to earn money. But, for the last 10-12 years, I don’t know how, but whatever role is coming my way has a lot of scope to perform. I am thankful to producers, directors and channels who think I can perform them.”
He adds, “If there is more than one opportunity that comes my way, then whichever comes first. becomes my moral responsibility. I have to work on that one. I have missed out on a lot of work this way, but it is the right thing to do.”
Meanwhile, he says that good nature attracts good vibes. “The environment on sets becomes positive if you are good with people around you. I am very cordial and humble, something I get from my parents. It’s very good for your growth as a person and your soul. If you don’t know how to ignore uncalled comments from your surroundings, you will attract negativity. If you are calm and composed, people will love to talk to you and give good vibes,” he says.
