Twelve years have passed since the release of Satrangi Re, a Marathi film that captured the hearts of audiences young and old alike. Starring Adinath Kothare, Amruta Khanvilkar, Siddharth Chandekar, Bhushan Pradhan and Pooja Sawant, the movie, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Hemant Dhome and Kshitij Patwardhan, boasted not only a talented cast but also a creative team.
Behind the scenes, film and music entrepreneur Ajay Naik played a pivotal role in bringing the project to life. Reflecting on the journey, Ajay recently took to social media to share his nostalgia about the shoot. In an exclusive chat with Culturecrossroads.ca, he says, “Satrangi Re was the first Marathi movie to introduce authentic rock music. It depicted the struggles of middle-class youth torn between pursuing their passions and navigating life’s challenges.”
He continues, “One of the highlights of filming Satrangi Re was working with a talented ensemble cast, all in the early stages of their careers. Additionally, shooting in Goa added to the film’s vibrant energy and aesthetic.”
