Seema Kapoor, who has been part of the industry for the last 35 years, says that it has been just work for her for so long. The actress who is renowned for her work in notable projects like Kurukshetra, Gharwali Uparwali, Nagin, Hum Saath Aath Hai, and Razia Sultan, says that she has now forced herself to slow down, and enjoy other facets of life too.
“I have no personal life as such because I’m not very social. Since very early in life until now, my life has just been work. But lately, I made myself experience what it is like to stay at home, relax, and organize my home. Also, I am working on my first novel. It’s exciting, and I have improved my culinary expertise while being at home as well. So, it’s been cool for me to manage my professional and personal life. I treat them as different aspects of my life and don’t like to mix the two,” she says.
Ask her what have been the highlights of her work, and she says, “What can be the highlights when one has worked continuously and has a body of outstanding work? I believe in talking through my work. I would now love to do certain challenging and out-of-the-box roles, stereotypes make me dull.”
Talking about who she takes inspiration from, she says, “My favorites have been Michelle Pfeiffer, Liz Taylor, Meena Kumari, Rekha, and Sridevi; they inspire me. Also, Al Pacino inspires me to no bounds. I wish I could get fabulous roles like them and prove my mettle.”
