In 2024, the television world was abuzz with the success of Paru and Shiva. Sharayu shared, “The 2024 Zee Marathi Awards were unforgettable for me. I won the Best Daughter award, and as I went on stage, a video started playing. It featured my mother speaking about my journey, which was a total surprise for me. When asked why the award was special, I said I wished my mother could hand it to me. Suddenly, she appeared on stage. That moment was deeply emotional and will remain special forever. I never imagined something like this would happen to me.”
Sharayu also reflected on personal milestones, “I got married in 2023, and we planned an international trip, but it didn’t happen because my show Paru started, and I got busy. I still feel there’s so much more I can bring to the character of Paru.”
Purva Kaushik, who plays Shiva, spoke about her growth, “The shooting for Shiva began in 2024, and as Shiva evolved, so did I. The role taught me so much. There were things I couldn’t do before, but Shiva gave me the strength to try. Most importantly, Shiva taught me to voice my opinions without fear. Winning the Best Actress award for this role was the ultimate recognition of my hard work, and I’m incredibly grateful to Zee Marathi and Jagdamba Productions for this opportunity.”
She added, “I’m still working on improving some aspects of my personality. I’m transparent in my dealings, but sometimes that works against me. I want to refine this quality. Two things I couldn’t focus on in 2024 were completing my Bharatanatyam education—I’ve done a diploma in it—and doing a Marathi experimental or commercial play. But I’ll make sure to pursue these in the coming year.”
