Actor Shehzad Shaikh has joined Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, backed by producers Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta under their banner Dreamiyata Entertainment. He will be seen playing the role of Shlok, a hotelier, and revealed that his portrayal is deeply inspired by his own life experiences.
Sharing more about his background, Shehzad said, “Not many people know that I am an honours graduate in hotel management from the Taj Institute in Aurangabad. So, in a way, my reel life is reflecting my real life, as my character is also a hotelier. He goes through the kind of challenges and pressures that professionals in the hospitality industry often face.”
He added that he had very little time to prepare for the role. “There wasn’t enough time for preparation, so I’ve had to rely heavily on my personal experiences. That’s when you realise how much a life well lived can help as an actor,” he said.
Talking about shaping his character, Shehzad shared that the process is still ongoing in collaboration with the creative team. “We are constantly working on building the character along with the writers, directors and creatives. It’s important to align with the vision of the project. An actor is just one part of a much larger system in film and television,” he explained.
He also emphasised the importance of teamwork and dedication. “There’s a lot of research, effort and commitment involved in doing justice to a role. It’s always about working together with every department to create something meaningful,” he said.
Expressing his gratitude, Shehzad had high praise for the producers. “It’s truly an honour to work with Ravie and Sargun. I’ve admired their work since the Jamai Raja days. They are extremely generous and, without a doubt, among the best producers I’ve worked with,” he concluded.
