Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya Adorns Holy Fabric Woven by Punekars

Holy Fabric woven by Punekars adorned Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on the auspicious day of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada i.e. Gudi Padwa-the beginning of the Hindu new year in Maharashtra.

In December 2023, city-based Anagha Ghaisas- Director of Heritage Hand Weaving Revival Charitable Trust organised ‘Do Dhaage Shri Ram Ke Liye’ an initiative that had witnessed an overwhelming participation of 12,36,000 Punekars who had woven a holy fabric for Shri Ram Lalla’s Idol in Ayodhya.

This devotion has reaped fruits as the Ram Lalla Idol at Ayodhya adorned this very fabric on Gudi Padwa. This was informed by Champat Rai- General Secretary, Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

Speaking about the initiative, Anagha Ghaisas said, “We are thrilled to see that the fabric weaved through our initiative was adorned by Ram Lalla for the whole day on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, i.e. Gudi Padwa-the beginning of the Hindu new year. Shri Ram Lalla’s garments are changed every afternoon, however, Punekar’s are blessed that our holy woven fabric adorned Ram Lalla for one whole day.  We are happy that the Hindu New Year began with an emotional message for all Shri Ram devotees from in and around Pune.”
