Simaran Kaur, who plays Riddhi Chotwani in Jamai No. 1, has won hearts with her performance. The show is currently in an exciting wedding phase, and Simaran shares her experience, journey in the industry, and what makes Jamai No. 1 special.
The wedding sequence in the show looks beautiful on screen, but it is not easy to shoot. “Weddings in TV shows look effortless, but behind the scenes, it takes a lot of hard work. From wearing heavy outfits to performing emotional scenes, everything is challenging. But the whole team has given their best, and I can’t wait for viewers to see Neel and Riddhi’s wedding,” she adds.
Simaran also hints at major twists in the upcoming episodes. “The wedding will be a turning point in the story. While it looks grand, there will be shocking moments that change everything. Without revealing too much, I can say—things won’t go as planned!”
Simaran finds her role as Riddhi very interesting because of the different emotions she gets to portray. “Riddhi is not a simple character. She has strong moments, but she also has weaknesses. She keeps changing, which makes playing her exciting. It’s a challenge, but I love it,” she explains.
She also appreciates the show’s producers, Parth Shah and Prateek Sharma, for their dedication. “Every scene is crafted with so much attention to detail. The show has a grand, cinematic feel but still stays emotional and real. That’s what makes Jamai No. 1 special,” she shares.

Simaran feels that the biggest reason for the show’s success is its unpredictability. “Unlike typical dramas, our show always has something surprising. It could be a big reveal, an emotional moment, or a shift in power between characters. That’s why people love watching it,” she says.
Talking about her love for acting, Simaran says, “I have always been passionate about acting. Bringing different characters to life and making a connection with the audience is what excites me. I started with modeling and voice-over work before getting television opportunities. Every project has helped me grow, and I am truly grateful for this journey.”
