Spreha Chatterjee is gradually winning hearts with her portrayal of Maahi in Anupamaa. The actress believes that being a part of such a widely loved show has not only brought her recognition but has also transformed her as a performer.
Sharing what excites her most about coming to the set daily, Spreha explained that acting is more than just performing dialogues for her. “The set is where everything finally comes alive. I genuinely enjoy finding small, honest moments in a scene as Mahi because that’s what makes the character feel real,” she said.
She also praised the atmosphere on the set and said that the strong bond among the cast and crew keeps the environment lively. According to her, even during stressful shoot schedules, the team finds ways to stay cheerful together. “We’re always laughing, dancing, making fun reels, or just sitting together and chatting over snacks. Those little moments help us relax and keep the energy positive,” she shared.
Talking about how the show has contributed to her growth, Spreha admitted that the emotionally layered scenes in Anupamaa have sharpened her understanding of emotions and reactions. “I think now I understand emotions and reactions much more realistically as an actor,” she said, adding that observing talented co-stars on set has improved her confidence, timing, and screen presence.
The actress also opened up about one particular scene that deeply affected her emotionally — the sequence where Anupamaa supports Maahi’s decision to divorce Gautam. Spreha recalled that performing alongside Rupali Ganguly made the mother-daughter emotions feel authentic and deeply moving.
“The scene carried so much pain, strength, and emotional conflict within it. I genuinely got emotional because the mother-daughter bond felt so real in that moment,” she revealed.
Beyond professional growth, Spreha says the happiness and pride of her family have been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey so far. Her loved ones now follow every episode closely and often call her after watching her scenes, something she treasures deeply.
The actress believes that while awards are special milestones, nothing compares to genuine audience connection. “When people genuinely love and relate to Mahi and her journey, that feels incredibly rewarding for me as an actor,” she said.
Spreha also acknowledged that being associated with a successful show naturally increases an actor’s visibility. However, she sees popularity as a responsibility rather than just fame. “People instantly notice and connect with every character, including Mahi. I feel grateful for all the love, but the focus is always on working hard and giving my best,” she said.
