As the fashion landscape evolves, stylist Riddhima Sharma feels that the focus is shifting towards authenticity and conscious choices. Sharing her view on what will define style this year, she says, “I see sustainable fashion, classic silhouettes, Indian textiles, minimal luxury, and well-tailored outfits dominating. What I feel is overrated is over-branding and loud fashion. True style lies in simplicity, fit, and authenticity.” She also highlights how social media has transformed the role of a stylist in the entertainment industry. “Social media has completely changed our role. A stylist today is not just dressing a client but also building a visual identity and personal brand. Every look lives forever online, so consistency, storytelling, and originality are more important than ever. It has also increased visibility and opportunities globally.”
For those dreaming of making it big in the fashion world, Riddhima’s advice is rooted in patience and perseverance. “Be patient, observant, and true to your vision. Learn the basics, assist experienced stylists, understand fabrics and body types, and most importantly, build genuine relationships. Fashion changes, but integrity, discipline, and hard work never go out of style.”
