Actor Sunny Singh is reveling in the success of his recently released film, Luv Ki Arrange Marriage. The film, starring Annu Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Avneet Kaur, was globally released on ZEE5 Global.
Talking about the feedback on the film, Sunny shared, “People are loving my acting and the film. I have received messages stating that it is a fun and cute film. I also have a few messages saying I look cute in the film. It’s great to know that the essence of the film has reached the audiences. It’s a fun and comedy film, and people are happy with it.”
On his initial reaction after reading the script, the actor said, “Well, who doesn’t want to be a part of a Raaj Shandiliya film? I have always been a fan of his writing, and I am so glad that this project worked out.”
The film stars veterans Annu Kapoor and Supriya Pathak Kapur, and Sunny considers it a dream come true to have shared screen space with them. “You learn a lot as an actor and person from them. They are such stalwarts and have achieved so much. Yet, they come to set with so much energy and passion. That motivates you to do better.”
On having an OTT release as compared to the traditional theater release, Sunny adds that having a platform like ZEE5 Global does make a lot of difference. “Your audiences, fans, relatives, and friends have access to your work from across the globe. I have friends and relatives in Canada, Australia, and England who have watched the film and enjoyed it.”
He adds that an online release gives people the liberty to watch a project at their pace and convenience. “Also, it is so much more intimate and connected. It’s like they have access to me while they get along with their routine. It makes me happy to know that one can watch a film of mine while they are just chilling at home after a long hectic day.”
So, does the platform of release affect his decision while picking a film? “Not at all. When a film is being made, it’s the same technique, process, and team, irrespective of the platform it will be released on. For me, the script is always of prime importance.”
So, if you had to pick a fun guest list for a wedding party of Luv Ki Arrange Marriage, what would it look like? “Well, the first name that comes to my mind is Luv Ranjan (laughs), then Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Aujla, Nitish Rana, Rinku, and Aparshakti.”
