The film Chhaava has been making waves, and its grand trailer launch recently left audiences impressed. With prominent Bollywood actors, Marathi star Suvrat Joshi will also be seen in a pivotal role in this highly anticipated film.
Speaking about the opportunity, Suvrat shared, ”First and foremost, the work of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj needs to be known worldwide. Unfortunately, not many people are aware of his contributions, and to bring his remarkable legacy to the forefront, director Laxman Utekar decided to make this film. Being a part of this project brings me immense joy.
I have always dreamt of working in a historical film set in the era of the great Maharajas, and this wish is finally coming true with Chhaava. Working with a director like Laxman Utekar, known for his exceptional work in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, has been an incredible learning experience.”
Suvrat adds, “Vicky Kaushal is a phenomenal actor, and his dedication to this role is unmatched. Sharing the screen with him and observing his process has taught me a lot as an actor. During the making of this film, we rehearsed every scene diligently. Each actor was committed not only to their own scenes but also to supporting their co-actors during rehearsals by being present for their cues.”
He shares, “The makeup, costumes, and art teams worked tirelessly, day and night, to bring this film to life. When the Raigad set was constructed and filled with actors in historical attire, it truly felt like we were living and experiencing that era. Despite the heat and the heavy costumes, every actor gave their best to make this film remarkable. It’s my sincere wish that this film not only reaches audiences across India but also finds a global audience. The world deserves to know the greatness of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.”
What role Suvrat Joshi will portray in Chhava remains a mystery, adding to the anticipation. Alongside this, Suvrat is also busy with his much-talked-about play Varvarche Vadhu-Var and will be seen in several projects in 2025.
