Actor Swaroopa Ghosh opens up about her deep connection with music — something that has quietly shaped her everyday life. Known for her memorable performances in films like Piku, Pink, and Vicky Donor, Swaroopa will soon be seen in Sony TV’s upcoming show Ami Dakini. But beyond the screen, she finds her rhythm in something much more personal: music. “As a Bengali, music has been part and parcel of my life,” she shares. “It always uplifts my spirit when I’m down, calms me down, and makes me feel content.”
Swaroopa doesn’t believe in having one favourite artist or song. “There’s no one favourite,” she says. “I love many singers… whom I listen to depends on my mood.” The same goes for songs — they change with her emotional landscape. Music, for her, is more than entertainment. “It definitely helps to change my mood,” she adds — a sentiment many can relate to. And while remixes have their place in today’s soundscape, Swaroopa remains rooted in the classics. “I still prefer the original versions,” she says. “But some remixes are also interesting.” In a world that often moves too fast, Swaroopa’s relationship with music feels grounded and honest — a quiet reminder of how the simplest things can make the biggest difference.
