The Embassy of Switzerland lit up New Delhi with an unforgettable evening of art, music and movement at this year’s Swiss Art Night, themed ‘In the Flow’.
Part of the Embassy’s biennial initiative ‘Sustainability with a Plus’, this evening celebrated the power of water as a life-giving resource, as well as the ever-deepening cultural and creative ties between Switzerland and India.
The highlight of the evening was a first-of-its-kind artistic collaboration between BombayMami, a Swiss-Indian music sensation, and Switzerland’s medal-winning artistic swimmers Aimée Michel, Melody Halbeisen, and Anna-Sophia Aeschbacher. Together, they brought a captivating blend of sound, movement, and water-inspired performance to life – merging music with synchronized swimming in an evocative tribute to artistic fusion and friendship.
This year’s edition also carried symbolic weight: it coincided with the entry into force of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) between Switzerland and India on 1 October 2025, a milestone that marks a new chapter in Swiss-Indian relations.
Swiss Ambassador Maya Tissafi remarked, “Art has the power to transcend borders and spark conversations about what unites us. Water, the source of all life, is one such bond. Tonight’s celebration is not only about creativity and collaboration, it is also a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect this precious resource. Much like the new TEPA agreement, the Swiss Art Night is about bringing Switzerland and India together in new and inspiring ways.”

BombayMami added: “As a Swiss-Indian artist, it is deeply meaningful for me to return in this way – bridging both of my cultures on stage. This collaboration with Swiss artistic swimmers is a dialogue between music, movement, and identity. It shows how art and sport share the same discipline, passion, and energy. I’m proud to celebrate this exchange between Switzerland and India through creativity.”
The artistic swimming trio shared, “Performing at Swiss Art Night 2025 is an honor and a joy. Our sport is about precision, harmony, and expression – values we see reflected in this collaboration and in the cultural exchange it represents. This journey enriches us not just as athletes, but as human beings.”
Students in the Flow
The celebration continues on 12 October, when around 500 adolescents will join a special session with Ambassador Tissafi. They will experience the performance first- hand and engage in a dialogue about creativity, inspiration, and vocational training which is a path chosen by over 60% of young people in Switzerland to start their professional careers.
A Tradition of Art and Sustainability
Since its launch in 2014, the Swiss Art Night has become a landmark event in New Delhi’s cultural calendar, known for blending artistic excellence with meaningful dialogue. This year, as always, the Embassy placed sustainability at the heart of the celebration, ensuring the event was organized with minimal environmental impact.
