Sheaves of wheat have long represented prosperity, abundance, and renewal in many parts of the world, especially during the festive seasons. For France, where bread is an essential culinary staple, the winter holiday meals are typically accompanied by rustic country loaves – reflections of both a successful harvest and a joyful opportunity to gather around the table.
In honour of this tradition, The Peninsula Paris’s Executive Pastry Chef Anne Coruble, voted 2026 Pastry Chef of the Year by Gault & Millau, has designed an extraordinary Epiphany galette des rois, “Le Pain des Moissons (Harvest Bread).” The galette features puff pastry ingeniously crafted in the shape of a French country loaf, with a delicately crisp shell enveloping layers of creamy almond frangipane and toasted bread praline.
Le Pain des Moissons Galette des Rois is priced at €90 and available at The Peninsula Paris from January 2–31, 2027
