In the regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Khandesh, there have been numerous instances of farmer suicides. This is an extremely sensitive issue, and it is imperative to work on subjects like the “Cotton Soil System.” Shyam Pethekar had previously dealt with the sensitive topic of farmer suicides through the film Goshta Choti Dongraevadhi, which had a profound impact. Now, through the upcoming film Terav, he aims to shed light on the struggles of a woman left behind by a farmer who has committed suicide. Renowned theater director Harish Ethape has directed the film with utmost precision.
Producer Narendra Jichkar, from Anjani Krupa Productions, has shown great sensitivity in bringing to light the plight of families affected by farmer suicides. Gadkari commended their efforts and urged everyone to watch the film and support it.
The film is entirely shot in the local dialect of Vidarbha and features 90% of the cast from the region. Renowned cinematographer Suresh Deshmane has beautifully captured the essence of the film. The theme song of the film is penned by Gyanesh Wakudkar. Additionally, two songs penned by Shyam Pethekar are featured in the film.
An essential aspect of the film is its depiction of the struggles of a woman left alone after her husband’s suicide. The film beautifully portrays the resilience of these women and girls in the face of adversity.
