The much-awaited trailer of the Hindi film Phule, presented by ZEE Studios, and produced by Dancing Shiva Films and Kingsmen Productions, has been recently released. Based on the struggles of social reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, the film is set to be released on April 11, 2025. Interestingly, the release date also coincides with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Phule.
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, along with his wife Savitribai Phule, fought for women’s education, the eradication of caste discrimination, and social equality. In colonial India, they opened the first school for girls and fought for the rights of farmers and the oppressed communities. Their inspiring story will now unfold on the silver screen. The film does not only reflect historical events but also brings the struggle for social equality to the new generation. The movements established by Mahatma and Savitribai Phule continue to have a significant impact on our society today.
The film is directed by National Award-winning director Anant Narayan Mahadevan, who is known for his expertise in handling historical subjects. He has previously directed several important films.
Pratik Gandhi, famous for his role in Scam 1992, will play the role of Mahatma Phule, while the role of Savitribai Phule will be portrayed by Patralekha. Both actors have prepared intensively for their roles, and their powerful performances are expected to bring these historical figures to life. Vinay Pathak will also be seen in a key role.
The film Phule is produced by Pranay Choksi, Jagdish Patel, Ritesh Kudecha, Anuya Chauhan Kudecha, Sunil Jain, and Dr. Raj Khware, with the co-production responsibility handled by Kranti Shanbhag, Kalapi Nagda, Rohan Godambe, and Paridhi Khandelwal.
