Tushar Dhembla will be seen in the role of Nikhil in Director’s Kut Production’s new web show Heer Sharma Gayi. Created by Ishika Shahi, it will stream on their official YouTube channel. While he is excited to play the male lead in the show, he understands that it comes with the responsibility of carrying the story. However, he is hopeful that the audience will be able to build a connection with the show.
He said, “I’m really excited and a bit nervous, in a good way. Whenever you play a lead, there’s a sense of responsibility because you’re carrying the story. Heer Sharma Gayi is very close to my heart, and I genuinely feel the audience will connect with its emotions and honesty.”
He explained that when he first read the script, it felt different. He said, “It didn’t feel like a typical love story; it had depth and subtlety. I was instantly hooked and knew I wanted to be a part of it.”
The story and the team drew Tushar to the show. “After working with DKP earlier on Jabb Zodiacs Met, there was already a level of trust,” he said, adding that the character felt fresh, relatable, and emotionally strong.
He said, “That is something I always look for as an actor.”
He mentioned that his character is layered. He said, “He’s not just one emotion. There’s vulnerability, strength, love, and confusion all at once. What makes him stand out is how real he feels. He’s not perfect, and that’s what makes his journey interesting.”
Heer Sharma Gayi will stream on Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Production official YouTube channel from April 10. Asked about his response to YouTube shows, Tushar shared that such digital platforms have completely changed the game.
“Today, content reaches people directly, without barriers. It gives actors the freedom to experiment and be part of stories that might not fit into traditional formats. It’s a great space to grow and connect with a wider audience,” he said.
