Ultra Play’s ‘Madam Sarpanch’ Highlights a Homemaker’s Rise to Power in Rural Maharashtra

This month, Ultra Play OTT – India’s exclusive Hindi streaming platform – brings a powerful new series that explores strength, transformation, and empowerment in the heart of rural India. Titled Madam Sarpanch, the series will premiere on Ultra Play from 12th November onwards, offering viewers an engaging story about one woman’s journey from a simple homemaker to an unexpected leader.

The show stars Devika Daftardar, Kishor Kadam, Nagesh Bhosle, and Ashwini Kulkarni, with direction by Santosh Kolhe and production by Sushilkumar Agrawal.

Set in a rural village in Maharashtra, Madam Sarpanch captures the spirit of rural life and local gram panchayat politics. The story follows Awali, a simple homemaker whose life changes when her husband — a seasoned Sarpanch — urges her to contest the village elections. What begins as a reluctant step soon becomes a journey of courage and self-discovery, as Awali learns to lead, resolve disputes, and earn the respect of her people.

Speaking about the series, Sushilkumar Agrawal, Founder and Chairman of Ultra Media & Entertainment Group, shared, “Madam Sarpanch captures the strength and resilience of women who rise against all odds to lead and transform their surroundings. It’s a story rooted in the soil of rural India, reflecting the pulse of real panchayat life, yet its message of empowerment and self-worth is universal. Through Ultra Play, we aim to bring such meaningful narratives to audiences across the country.”
