How did artistic mediums like painting, sculpture, performance art, and dance shape your approach to storytelling?
Regardless of the medium, storytelling has been a tool for self-discovery, allowing me to externalize my experiences, thoughts, and desires in a reality that thrives only through art. Each medium reveals a different aspect of the story. Stories are a driving force for us as storytellers, making us the embodied medium. Painting, for instance, captures the emotional subtext of a moment, while sculpture adds dimension, allowing us to experience it with an added layer of abstraction or tangible aspects like form and touch. Performance art and dance have played a significant role in my understanding of becoming the artwork while also being the artist. These mediums have greatly shaped my approach to storytelling and continue to influence my voice as a filmmaker.
