Rajkummar Rao is one of the most power-packed actors we have in the Indian cinema, and not just the audience, even the filmmakers believe it. The actor, who is emerging as the box office disruptor of 2024, was previously hailed as the “future of Indian cinema” by ace filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. In fact, his ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ director Sharan Sharma was also all praise for the most versatile actor. “Raj is literally one of the best actors we have. He’s just too good,” Sharma said, adding that he is a “gift to the film industry”.
The actor kicked off 2024 on a flawless note with two blockbusters to his credit – ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, and is aiming to hit a hattrick at the box office with his upcoming film ‘Stree 2’. While ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ were received well by the audiences, ‘Stree 2’ is expected to wreak havoc at the box office, emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. It is to be noted that ‘Stree’, which released in 2018, was called a career-defining film for Rao, and with ‘Stree 2’ heading to the theatres on August 15, it seems that the history of success is set to repeat itself.
The most awaited horror-comedy will see Rao reprise his fans’ favourite role of ‘Bicky’, and will be seen sharing the screen space with Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Shraddha Kapoor. Beyond this, he also has ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ in the pipeline, where he will be seen sharing the screen space with Triptii Dimri for the first time. Apart from these, the actor has many more interesting projects, which will be announced soon.
