World Kindness Day: Many acts of kindness go unnoticed, says Bhawana Aneja

On November 13, we observe World Kindness Day, a day dedicated to promoting the simple yet powerful act of kindness. You might believe that we live in a world where there is no kindness, but it is not so, says actor Bhawana Aneja. The actor, who is known for her roles in films like Kavan, Aarambam, the web series Raisinghani vs. Raisinghani and TV shows such as Kumkum Bhagya, Dheere Dheere Se, and is part of the show Deewaniyat on Star Plus, says that many acts of kindness are not noticed.

“I believe that while it may seem like kindness is decreasing because we often hear negative stories on social media, there are still many acts of kindness that go unnoticed every day. With the rise of social media, we can also see increased awareness about kindness towards oneself,” she says.

She adds, “I think a simple smile and acknowledgement towards others is a small way people can incorporate kindness, which can often go unnoticed. A smile can provide a sense of warmth.”

Ask her how she stays grounded, and she says, “I often try to stay in touch with my roots to keep myself grounded by practising gratitude and acknowledging where I began from. I do appreciate myself for all that I have achieved, but also look at it in a manner that reminds me to work hard constantly.”
