Yauatcha Bengaluru is delighted to announce the celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival and introduce a specially curated Dragon Boat menu that perfectly encapsulates the festival’s ethos. This special menu showcases an array of traditional Chinese delicacies – Zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) paired with eclectic Tequila cocktails, designed to enhance the festive experience. The Festive Menu is available until July 15, 2024.
The Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated for over 5,000 years with a vibrant history, is an auspicious event enjoyed with vigour and enthusiasm across China and other parts of Asia. Commonly known as the Duanwu Festival, it brings families and friends together to savour traditional Chinese delicacies, such as the iconic Zongzi – a pyramid-shaped sticky rice dish wrapped in lotus leaves.
The menu
With the exclusive menu highlighting a variety of Zongzi dumplings, guests can share these delectable treats with friends and family, creating new memories while reminiscing old ones. The zongzi feature an array of fillings and textures from tender chicken to savoury pork belly, promising to evoke a sense of nostalgia and delight. The Black truffle zongzi dumpling is a vegetarian delight featuring porcini and shimeji mushrooms, infused with black truffle and sugar snap pea, while the Chicken and prawn zongzi dumpling is filled with succulent chicken and prawn complemented by shiitake mushrooms. The Prawn and water chestnut zongzi dumpling features prawn, water chestnut, snow pea & shimeji mushroom for an everlasting satisfying taste. The Braised pork belly zongzi dumpling features savoury Belgian pork belly with a hint of Sichuan peppercorn for a rich taste. Bringing the menu to a close, is the Mango rice tapioca, served with Jasmine rice pudding, fresh mango compote, accompanied by mango mascarpone ice cream.
The Tequila Garden
Complementing this culinary experience, Yauatcha has exclusively introduced a Tequila Garden that offers a vibrant selection of Tequila cocktails inspired by Asian and Mexican flavours such as wasabi, ghost pepper, lime, agave, and yuzu. For the Dragon Boat Festival, these cocktails are designed to pair perfectly with the zongzi dumplings, creating a harmonious blend of tastes and aromas. Yauatcha’s innovative mixology program adheres to the philosophy of “fresh and eclectic.” The cocktails are crafted using fresh ingredients, homemade purees and foams, fruits, herbs, and spices, all of which pay a true modern homage to Asian flavours. The cocktail menu features a blend of these flavours such as- the Dragon Boat Margarita that brings a twist to the classic cocktail with sake, yuzu and tequila & the Fuzhou Highball which expertly combines lime, elderflower, jasmine seltzer, and tequila.
