Known for grabbing media attention through his prowess with the bat, Indian maestro Yuvraj Singh was in the thick of the action yet again - this time, not at a cricket stadium but at the Miami International Autodrome for the Miami GP.
Speaking about his idols Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, the former Indian cricketer also shed light on India’s love for the sport and being golf buddies with none other than McLaren’s Lando Norris.
“I have been an F1 fan since I met Lando Norris and played golf with him. He is a good friend and I think as a young kid watching Michael Schumacher, and watching Aryton Senna was kind of very inspiring,” said Yuvraj, on FanCode, official broadcaster for Formula 1 in India.
On the popularity of the sport in India
“It’s popular because we’ve had two seasons in India, unfortunately, it bailed out, but hopefully it’ll come back and get people to engage with the sport once again. For me, it’s more fun going to places like Miami and Monte Carlo, and just the sound of it, you can’t really explain it in words.”
On his favorite team and driver
“Well, obviously McLaren, I would say, and he’s (Lando Norris) been doing really well, and had a really good last season and hopefully he’ll get some points and some big, big wins this year.”
F1 fans can catch all the action LIVE on FanCode’s mobile app (Android, iOS, TV), TV app available on Android TV, Fire TV Stick, Samsung TV and www.fancode.com. Race pass is available for INR 49 and season pass can be accessed at INR 749.
