In Marathi culture, weddings are celebrated with great love and tradition, involving various rituals carried out with much affection and respect. One such ritual is the ‘Kelvan,’ a pre-wedding feast hosted by relatives and friends for the soon-to-be-married couple. Zee Marathi organized a Kelvan ceremony for their beloved on-screen couples: AJ-Leela, Akash-Vasundhara, Ashu-Shiva, and Paru-Aditya, sharing this event with their audience.
The event was hosted by Pranav Raorane and Ankita Mestry. During the ceremony, one of the aunts taught Ashu how to confess his love to Shiva, while another advised Leela on how to make AJ laugh. Akash excelled in the ‘Ukhanas’ game (a traditional Marathi custom where the bride and groom mention each other in a poetic couplet), with Leela acting as Vasundhara’s mentor. The women present performed a special ritual of ‘Aukshan’ (a traditional blessing) for the couples and gave them blessings in unique ways.
Some women offered valuable advice to the bride and groom on how to start their new life and nurture their relationship. After an excellent meal, special gifts were given to the guests. While the Kelvan was celebrated beautifully, the audience is eagerly waiting to see how the actual weddings of these couples will unfold. The answers will be revealed during the wedding special week starting from May 27 on Zee Marathi.
