After receiving critical acclaim and strong audience appreciation during its theatrical release, Tighee is set to reach audiences worldwide with its World Digital Premiere on ZEE5 on May 15, 2026. Directed by Jeejivisha Kale in her debut feature and produced by Supri Advertising and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Tighee is an emotionally charged Marathi drama that explores the complexities of family, silence, and the unspoken truths that shape relationships.
The film follows Swati Ranade-Karnik [Nehha Pendse Bayas], a 40-year-old woman whose seemingly stable life in Mumbai begins to unravel under mounting personal and financial pressures. When she learns that her estranged mother, Hemalata Ranade [Bharati Achrekar], is nearing the end of her life, Swati returns to her childhood home in Pune only to confront a past she had long left behind. There, she reunites with her younger sister Sarika [Sonalee Kulkarni], who has been solely caring for their ailing mother. Their reunion is tense and emotionally charged, marked by accusations, unresolved resentment, and long-suppressed wounds. As the three women grapple with guilt, anger, and helplessness, their fragile bond is further tested when their mother expresses her wish to spend her final days in hospice, away from them.
Set within a home steeped in memories and silences, Tighee is a poignant exploration of how families endure through sacrifice, secrets, and emotional distance forces that can both bind and break them.
Featuring a powerful ensemble cast including Bharati Achrekar, Nehha Pendse Bayas & Sonalee Kulkarni alongside Nipun Dharmadhikari, Jaimini Pathak, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Suvrat Joshi, Mrinmayee Godbole, and Sanjay Mone in key roles, the film delivers deeply nuanced performances that bring authenticity and emotional depth to this layered narrative.
